Let’s face it, none of us are getting younger, and none of us are getting any smaller as we age. For the most part, we’re getting weaker, less flexible, and have less endurance. I present here three exercises I’m sure you, as woodworkers, can do practically every day.

Lifting weights is a good way to maintain your strength level as you grow older. A bit of exertion can also do wonders for your back. I often find such satisfaction in a day of heavy lifting that I actually must savour it by relaxing for a full week or so.

Everyone knows that endurance is something that fades with age. Luckily, memory often also suffers the same fate.

And, finally, if you cannot do yoga, there are easy and often involuntary stretching exercises you can do.

Remember, these exercises can be done every day, but you should perhaps ease yourself into a solid routine. Exercise is a lifelong committment. I’m sure you’ll feel better for it.
