Tip: Straighten A Sawzall Or Jigsaw Blade
If you use a sawzall or jigsaw, it’s bound to happen – you’ll bend the blade:
I’ve tried every method, from clamping it in a vise to bending it with the claw of a hammer or pliers. The best way is to straighten it in the same way as you would straighten a bent nail, by putting it on a piece of wood and pounding it until it’s flat:
Takes no time and most times the blade can stay on the machine while you are doing it.
Of course, there’s a limit to how many times a blade can be straighten, but usually it will get too dull to use before you reach that point.
