Twin Screw Gear Linked Vise

Need a woodworking vise that doesn’t rack? This is it.

The screws are linked with gears so that they both turn evenly at the same time.

That means it’s easy to hold smaller parts anywhere on the vise without the jaws closing unevenly.

While this is a more advanced project, it’s also a great skill builder and the payoff is a great looking vise that you can be proud of.

Feel free to look through the detailed build article for this project to see if it’s right for you.

The plans consist of:

  • a materials list
  • 2 parts map drawings showing part names and locations
  • 8 detailed parts drawings showing all of the dimensions
  • 1 metal hardware detail drawings
  • 8 assembly drawings that go through the build process step by step

The plans are easy to follow and all of the dimensions are in both imperial and metric, with the metric dimensions (millimeters) in brackets. Screw sizes and other hardware are in imperial units.

Please read these important notes before buying these plans.
