Woodworker’s Toolbox Plans

It’s time to give yourself a present, one that you’ll actually like. Not only will you end up with a toolbox that’s worthy of holding the very best tools, you’ll level up your skill and ability while building it. Aside from a minimum of hardware, this box is made entirely from wood. Even the full extension drawer slides are wood. And you can use any type of wood you want, even plywood. The toolbox has four drawers. Two that are wide but shallow to neatly organize your smaller hand tools, and two that are deeper for bigger items. The lid is large enough and deep enough to store your favourite handsaws, and there’s a full size tray that you can organize to suit your needs.

The finished dimensions of the toolbox are  30″ (762mm) long x 14.5″ (368mm) high x 12.5″ (318mm) deep from front to back.

Feel free to look through the detailed build article for this project to see if it’s right for you.

The plans consist of:

  • a materials list
  • 2 cut diagrams for the plywood used to make the cabinet and drawers
  • 20 detailed drawings showing all of the dimensions and assembly steps

The plans are easy to follow and all of the dimensions are in both imperial and metric, with the metric dimensions (millimeters) in brackets. Screw sizes and other hardware are in imperial units.

Please read these important notes before buying these plans.
